Eligibility criteria: To enter for the Young Investigator Competition you MUST fulfil one of the two following criteria:

• Be within the last six months of a continuous period of research likely to lead to a MD / PhD at the time of submission for the meeting (October 2010)
• Have actually completed a MD or PhD and be within 36 months of the award of that degree on the date of the meeting without yet having completed their clinical training (i.e. before award of CCT or equivalent) (February 2011)

Please submit the following:

1. a completed abstract form (download form here - PC users 'right-click' on link, choose 'Save target as...'; Mac users 'click and hold' on link, choose 'Download link to disk...').
2. a structured curriculum vitae, (maximum 1 side A4 in length).
3. a summary of the completed research, (maximum 2 sides A4 in length, 12 point font) ensuring that all references of original scientific publications are detailed in full (authorship, title and journal).

Note:
Individuals who are not shortlisted for the final oral presentation phase of the competition will instead automatically be given the opportunity to present their work at the meeting in the form of a poster. Therefore, please do not make two separate submissions (one for the YI competition; one for a poster) in respect of the same piece of research.
